Berlin to Odessa Day 10: Przemyśl (Dybawka)

Just to preface this post, there exists a place with so few vowels that Wheel Of Fortunate would go bankrupt from using it.

But first, to start off the day, we were invited to visit our host Asia's father (the super handy one who built his own tractor and runs a farm) at his day job as a mechanic at a Daf truck servicing facility. He took a break from replacing an enormous motor to show us around and introduce us to his boss, who wasted no time in telling us that he is an extremely intelligent and innovative mechanic and an integral part of the team.
Then we got a tour of the showroom and got to have a tour around one of the trucks on display.
Graham gets a lesson in how far the truck will go fully loaded on one fill-up of the 1500L tank (2,250km)
I learned that these types of trucks can have up 2 two beds located in the cab. In this one it felt almost like a hotel with space for a TV, ipod, etc. Ok, hotel is going to far, but they pack a lot of stuff in that cabin. It's a good thing the drivers can't reach the wheel from the bed.

Then we bike toured. On our bikes that were so tiny next to the trucks, we got on some roads and went off.
One thing about the landscape we rode over...it's quite a romantic image to think of a stretching countryside with rolling hills, each greener than the next. But this would only be the case if you stayed in one place. However, dragging a bunch of heavy stuff on the back of your bike up 11 or 12% slope grades is a good test of how robust your legs are. And a less than romantic workout.
Graham putting in work up the hill (maybe it doesn't look that tough in the picture, but I was cycling the same slope right behind him, it was a good climb)

We encountered a lot of smoke today as well. I'm still not entirely sure what the burning technique accomplishes, but I certainly inhaled a lot of it today.

Our hosts tonight are awesome as usual. We were invited to be shown off at her (Aneta's) school tomorrow and will be able to check out some of the old/ancient fortresses surrounding the city.
